March Meeting
Our March 15th meeting is solely a networking meeting. Also, Carly our Events Coordinator has organizing a canned food drive for this meeting. If you bring canned foods you will get a raffle ticket (separate from the scholarship raffle) for prizes.

New position available: Women of the Summit President

Interested in being President of Women of the Summit? Here are the responsibilities (it’s great fun, according to Nancy):

* run the monthly meetings
* schedule guest speakers/networking for each meeting
* get info to the Summit Daily each month announcing the meeting
* run the monthly board meetings (about 1 hour), set the agenda
* answer inquiries from interested women

If you are interested in the position, please e-mail Nancy. The job will start in April 2007.

Tubbs Romp to Stomp
Another Great Event is Coming Up! Mark your calendars; March 10th is the Tubbs Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer. For more information, visit the event website.

A Note from Kendra Driemeyer

Thanks to all the generous Women of the Summit members for the gift certificates and items which were donated in 2006 for the MS event - all sold for very good bids. Visitors as well as locals kept bidding interesting for everything from the hot air balloon ride to the massages. Over $5,000 was raised at this event!

I am currently looking for items for this year’s auction – date is April 28 at Mi Casa in Breckenridge. Music will be by Keith Synnestvedt, a local favorite. If you don’t have something you/your vompany can give I have contacted with some local businesses to buy discounted gift certificates such as Colorado Rocky Ballooning. Another idea would be to ask your favorite businesses if they would do the same thing.

We had 47 walkers in 2006 who raised over $80,000. 100% of the money collected was used to support those with Multiple Sclerosis – 40% to research with the National MS Society and Colorado Chapter Research Challenger and 60% to directly help those who need it through the Center for Neurorehabilitation Services Foundation in Fort Collins. CNS started processing grants in January, please pass on this information to anyone you know with MS. Applications are available on the website listed below.

The 14 Wild West MS Walkabout Steering Committee (volunteers) are business members from throughout the states of Colorado and Wyoming, all with full-time jobs and are supported by their families and communities.

If anyone is interested in walking/helping with the 50 mile, 3-day event Aug 24, 25, and 26, please call (970) 393-2684, or for more information visit: www.WildWestMSWalkabout.org.

Please come and enjoy the music, margaritas and food. Steering committee members and walkers from last year’s walk will be there to meet. This is a family friendly event.
