Scholarship Committee Information
The Scholarship Committee yearly awards a college scholarship one or two young women seniors from Summit County. The awards are based on academic scholarship, community service and participation, and need. The committee tasks include reviewing all student applications and choosing one or two young women to receive the scholarship, deciding in the recipient(s), attending a distribution meeting and the awards night. (Please see the schedule below.)
Generally the applications are distributed for review in February. There is usually one meeting to examine the applications and decide on the top five recipients in mid-February. Then there is another meeting at which all the grantors assemble and a final determination of the recipient(s) is made in March. The awards night is April 5th, 6:00 p.m. at the High School. Usually one or two committee members attend to present the award.
